The surgery with a four-day stay in a private suite built for a family member to stay comfortably alongside you: in-room dining, refrigerator and microwave, high-speed internet, television, a sofa-cum-bed for your attendant, and staff on call through the night. Where you fall in the range depends on the procedure and on your clinical needs.

Price is only meaningful against what stands behind it.
Our seven-year audit of 1,107 cases — comparing sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and mini gastric bypass — was published in Obesity Surgery in 2016 and has since been cited in 289 papers. Around 150 surgeons have trained here, from across India and from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Pakistan.
If you are travelling from abroad
More than 4,500 international patients have had surgery here since 2007, from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The charges above are the same ones our Indian patients pay.
- Plan on about ten days in India. One to two of those are in hospital.
- You can normally fly long-haul ten days after surgery.
- We issue your medical visa letter. Send your passport, tickets, any medical records and your current medication list.
- Video consultation before you travel is ₹2,000, by prior appointment.
- Card is our preferred method. International bank transfer can be arranged before you arrive.
- Follow-up is monthly for three months, then twice a year, and it does not stop. In an emergency we are reachable at any hour.

How much does bariatric surgery cost in India?
At Jammu Hospital, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy is ₹4,00,000 and mini gastric bypass or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is ₹4,50,000. The robotic version of each is about ₹1,00,000 more. Each figure covers the surgeon and surgical team, anaesthesia, theatre, your hospital stay, routine pre-operative investigations, medicines during your stay and routine follow-up.
Why is your figure higher than some others in Jalandhar?

How long will I be in hospital?
One to two days for most patients. If you have other conditions that need watching, it may be a day or two longer.
Is revision surgery priced differently?
Yes. Revision is ₹5,50,000 laparoscopic and ₹6,50,000 robotic. It is a longer and more demanding operation than a first-time procedure, and we perform it often for patients whose earlier banding or sleeve did not give the result they needed.
Is follow-up charged separately?
No. Routine post-operative follow-up is part of the figure. We review you every month for the first three months, then twice a year, and that continues for as long as you want it.
How long is a quote valid?
Until your first follow-up, usually ten to fifteen days after surgery.
