What is Roux en Y Gastric Bypass Surgery?
Gastric bypass is also called Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. In this procedure we make a small pouch from the stomach and connect the new stomach pouch to the small intestine.
What happens after Roux en Y Gastric Bypass?
After the surgery, the food we swallow goes into the new stomach pouch and then it moves into the small intestine. It bypasses the main stomach and some portion of small intestine is also bypassed.
