My ascent within the medical fraternity is a testament to my unwavering commitment to surgical excellence and perpetual learning.

Recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) in the USA with the prestigious title of ‘Master Surgeon’, I have not only set a benchmark in laparoscopic surgery but also pioneered my hospital’s journey to become the first OSSI- accredited Center of Excellence in Punjab in 2018. This accolade reflects our collective endeavor to set the gold standard in patient care.

My Experience with Bariatric Surgery A Personal Account :

In the year 2000, Jammu Hospital was founded, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards medical excellence. By 2007, this institution had evolved into a hub of bariatric expertise, introducing weight-loss surgery to its array of services. Today, it stands as a dynamic epicenter for bariatric procedures, proudly handling over 300 transformative cases annually, a testament to its commitment and proficiency in this specialized field.

Within these walls, over 5100 lives have been profoundly changed through my surgical interventions, with each Roux-n-Y Gastric Bypass, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Mini Gastric Bypass, and intricate Revision surgeries adding to a legacy of success and patient resurgence.

Elevating my journey from surgical skill to thought leadership, I proudly hold a seat as the Executive Council Member (North) of OSSI, and helping shape the discourse in the field as a chief convenor of center of excellence committee of OSSI. I also happen to be an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Bariatric Surgery by OSSI since 2021.

As a founding figurehead and director of the revered MGB/OAGB International Club, established in the scenic heart of Austria in 2015, I have fostered a global dialogue on obesity management.

My voice and expertise have resonated through halls across continents, from the podiums of countless national and international conferences to the director’s chair of MGB/OAGB courses in cities renowned for their culture and medical prowess – Montreal, Vienna, London, Naples, Valladolid, and Cologne.

Among an elite cadre of experts, I stand as one of the 50 architects of the International consensus on MGB/OAGB, a testament to my dedication to crafting the future of bariatric surgery.
